Zwartbles sale tops at 2100gns
Harrison and Hetherington held the eleventh annual Zwartbles Sheep Association sale this topped at 2100gns for a shearling gimmer from A Baillie and T Jackson Lanarkshire Broomfield Beauty sired by Broomfield Trickster out of a Stonebyres dam sold to S Gilberts Hayberries flock Barnard Castle. Other leading shearling gimmer prices were as follows 2000gns secured the overall pre sale champion Broomfield Beyonce sired by Elidon Hill Am Yer man out of an Elidon Hill dam she sold to J Wilkie’s Whitestone flock Aberdeenshire next at 1600gns was paid for Killymallaght Black magic from A & R Megarrell Londonderry selling to J Millar’s Joyfield flock Kirkpatrick Fleming and 1300gns for Killymallaght Bardot selling to R Heigh’s Brookdene flock Bentham.
Staying with females ewe lambs topped at 1100gns this for a February born lamb Pendle Cheeky Girl from I & T Hartley Lancashire sired by Joyfield Above and Beyond out of a home bred dam sold to B Goldie’s Goldies flock Dumfries. Next was a lamb from Liam Campbell’s Glencoy flock Ballymena Glencoy Cissy sold to M J Cornish’s Mardle flock Devon for 1000gns. Aged ewes topped at 400gns for Wychford Wren from C Anderson sold to new breeders C & S Weaver Shropshire.
Rams topped at 1900gns this shearling ram Janetstown Balvenie from S Stewart Keith and was sired by Aquila Action Man out of a homebred dam and sold to M J Cornish’s Mardle flock Devon other leading prices for shearling rams were as follows 900gns for Pistyll Bounty from G A & M Francis Carmarthen sold to E Brice Havensfield’s flock Suffolk 850gns was paid twice firstly for Killymallaght Blueprint from A & R Megarrell selling to L & J Strawhorn’s Broomhillbank flock Lockerbie and then for Pendle Braveheart from I& T Hartley selling to C Jones Trefonnen.
Ram lambs topped at 1400gns for a lamb who was the reserve male champion from C & H Duffy Stranraer Smiddy Hill Caeser was sired by Aqulia Aftershock out of a homebred dam and sold to A & R Megarrell’s Killymallaght flock Londonerry next 1280gns Pistyll Calvin Klein from G A & M Francis sold to H Sloan’s Top Notch flock Dumfries and 880gns for Wallridge Moor Corder from C Anderson selling to C Critchley’s Clarewood flock Preston. Aged rams topped at 1000gns for Joyfield Above and Beyond from I & T Hartley this sold to H Pritchard’s Evistones flock Northumberland.
