Sunday 12th May 2019 – 1200 midday at
Hayberries Farm, Middleton-in-Teesdale,
County Durham DL12 0LP
Young Ambassadors Training, Ringcraft for Adults & DIY Worm Counts!
Activities on offer include:
Young Ambassadors Showing Masterclass
To encourage more Young Ambassadors to enter our annual competition, Aaron and Oliver Breeze of the highly successful Olbre flock will teach the junior members all they need to know about showing sheep in young handler classes and pass on some of their experience.
Ringcraft for Adults
John Stevenson of the Liverton flock is a judge and council member and will be passing on his hints and tips on ringcraft. Perfect if you are new to showing or just want to have a go and don’t know where to start, so if you would like to learn about the do’s and don’ts of the show ring and the rules that Judges and exhibitors must follow, this is for you.
DIY Worm Counts
Member and veterinary surgeon Jenny Hull, BVetMed, MRCVS will be showing members how to do your own faecal egg counts. Bring a fresh poo sample from your flock in a secured plastic bag and Jenny will show you how to perform this test to help you to keep regular track of the level of worm burden in your flock.
There will of course be refreshments on offer on the day and the usual fund raising raffle, so always grateful if you could please bring a prize donation along with you.
The event will be followed by a social get together and a hot two course supper at The Moorcock Inn, Eggleston. The cost of the meal is £10 per head, payable in advance and the menu is limited to:
Roast Beef/Apple Crumble.
Bookings are essential so please reply indicating the activity you would like to attend and your choice from the menu.
Please make your cheque payable to Gillian Blamire, and send this booking form and cheque to: Debra Walker, Lyneholmeford House, Lyneholmeford, Carlisle CA6 6LH by 5th May 2019.
