Carlisle Zwartbles In-Lamb sale tops at £1600
Harrison and Hetherington held a recent in lamb sale on behalf of the Zwartbles Sheep Association the sale also included empty ewe lambs. The sale topped at £1600 for a shearling gimmer from N Porter and A Evans of Raglan Wales. Brace Bracken having run with Brace Centurion was also the overall champion and attracted keen bidding with the hammer finally falling to M J Cornish, she will join the Mardle flock in Devon. Other leading shearling prices were as follows at £1300 for Clarewood Beauty Queen from C & T Critchley Preston this sold carrying a pair in lamb to Wallridge Moor Corder to J & M Beckwith’s Sharphaw flock Skipton then at £950 for Wheatfield Betty along with Wheatfield Becky at £900.00 from A Ingleby both having run with Homlea Border Talent and both take a trip across the water to a Northern Ireland breeder.
In-Lamb ewes topped at £800 for the reserve overall champion Cynefin 00251-098W from O Huges Owen Anglesey she sold carrying twins sired by Cynefin Arthur again to M J Cornish’s Mardle flock. Next at £400 from the same home was Cynefin 00251-50W sold carrying twins again sired by Cynefin Arthur to E Harrold’s Auldyne flock Huntly Aberdeenshire.
Empty Ewe lambs topped at £680 for Wheatfield Crocus from A Ingleby this sold to Scott Storr, Eastend flock, Richmond North Yorkshire next at £620 was Pistyll 00054-1195C from G A & H M Francis this sold to J Campbell Croy’s flock Glasgow then at £600 for Whinnow Crystal from T & G Blamire selling to F Brown’s Stainmore flock Barnard Castle.
