(self-employed, 16 hours per week)

£18,000 + mileage allowance

The upcoming resignation of our current Secretary, after 14 years in office, has created a rare and exciting opportunity.

The Zwartbles Sheep Association is seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and proactive Breed Secretary.

 

Working with a high degree of autonomy and reporting to the Zwartbles Sheep Association Council, the Breed Secretary is responsible for all aspects of the day to day running and administration of the Association.

Key responsibilities include:

  • managing pedigree registrations and flock records
  • co-ordinating membership services and breed promotions
  • co-ordinating all aspects of Association sales including the preparation of sales catalogues
  • organising and attending Council meetings and the Annual General Meeting
  • maintaining the website and social media
  • attending Association sales and selected agricultural events

 

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative to prioritise and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail and the ability to collate and disseminate information effectively
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Experience in the use of MS Office (Word and Excel), Xero and social media
  • Minute taking skills
  • Knowledge of the Grassroots system would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of the agricultural/pedigree sheep sector would be desirable

 

The successful applicant will be self-employed working 16 hours per week, principally from home.
