A top price of 2000gns was achieved at the Zwartbles Premier show and sale at Lockerbie and Carlisle under the new format enforced by bluetongue regulations.

Sale leader was Welsh breeder, Anerin Francis’ ram lamb, Pistyll Nikko, a son of BarmurrieKool Kid, out of a homebred dam. Nikko sold to Dumfriesshire breeders, Neil and Joyce Millar buying for the Joyfield flock.

Pistyll Major a shearling ram from the same home, sold for 1200gns to the Northway familyfor their Norbeth flock . He is sired by Danygraig Hustler and out of a homebred ewe.

Orkney breeder, Heather Hourston, topped the shearling trade at 1400gns when selling the Didcot Lexus son, Didcot Magic. He is bred from Didcot Jessica and headed home with Dunfermline breeder Carmine Brandi for his Lassodie Mill flock.

Three ram lambs sold for 1000gns. First was Holmlea Nic, a son of Whinnow Leo out of Holmlea Karenza, from John Thorburn. He was purchased by the McCornick family and joins their Stewarton flock.

North Wales breeders, G and L Owen from Conwy, took the same money for Cernyw Nedw. He is sired by the 3000gn Hayberries Moonraker and out of Cernyw Jaci. He sold back down to Wales with Messrs Powell, Llandrindod Wells for their Carlea flock.

The third ram lamb at 1000gns from Peter and Susan Addison, Co Durham, was HayberriesNo Limit, a son of Selside Lamberton out of Hayberries Nimbus. The buyers were Miles Northmore buying for his Alston Manor flock.

Females were jointly topped at 1600gs by the Carlisle overall champion and the Lockerbie supreme.

Eleanor Thornton, Northallerton, sold her ewe lamb, Coquet Nook Nina, sired by Whitestone Giovanni and out of Somerwood Eldere, for this money to Messrs Hodgson, Cumbria for their Halfpenny flock.

The Goldie family from Townfoot at Mouswald also took 1600gns for their gimmer, Goldies Magical by Wallridge Moor Kapow and out of Goldies Humble. She was purchased by the Torranyard flock of Lorraine Crum, who also went to 1000gns for the reserve female at Lockerbie, Smiddy Hill Nelly from Colin and Helen Duffy. She is by Stainmore Kingsman.

Dylan and Charlie Jones from Powys sold Danygraig Mystique by Wallridge Moor Kelso and out of Castle Hill Harmony for 900gns to Speccott Zwartbles, Okehampton.
